Name: Joy Martin
Role at Senior Teen 2010: Director (AKA the woman with the answers)
Date of Birth: April 14, 1980
Hometown: Allentown, PA
Favorite Ice Cream flavor: Right now I am on a Ben & Jerry’s kick. Phish food, Half baked…hmmm
If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you have? Those Disney animals that come in and clean your house.
What was your first car? 1997 Green Hyundai Accent
What is the scariest thing you have ever done? I was watching Flatliners in a dark basement. I do not like suspense so I looked away from the screen only to see Scary Monkey staring at me with these creepiest red glow from the TV screen shining on him.
What is your greatest Camp Timberledge memory? 1. My wedding day. 2. The rainstorm that we desperately prayed for all week during camp of 2006.
What are you looking forward to the most at Senior Teen 2010? Watching God transform lives.
This year will be Joy’s 21st year attending Camp Timberledge. After 10 years as a camper, she tried her hand at counseling and eventually landed herself in the Director of Senior Teen role. Joy is a major contributor to the creativity found in senior teen’s games, themes and challenges and is the organizational force that brings all of these components together. At camp you will often see her leading the group’s activities and facilitating the staff as they fulfill their roles at camp.
Away from camp Joy is a full time mother taking care of her beautiful daughter Hannah and is a leader of the children’s ministry at ValleyChurch.

flatliners…. ha.. what a bad night
There have probably been scarier moments in my life, but I still have nightmares because of that creepy monkey with the red glow!
