Many of you had the privilege of getting to know Pastor Eric, the nurse Stephanie, and their great kids, Katy, Julian, Libby, & Abi, last year at camp. Sadly they will not be returning to Senior Teen 2010, but for good reasons.
Shortly after camp 2009 Pastor Eric announced the he felt God calling his life in a new direction. On January 1, 2010 Pastor Eric left his church home of 8 years and signed up as a Chaplain in the US Army. Eric has started his chaplain training in Fort Jackson, SC and will be there until April. In April, Eric and his family will begin their assignment at Fort Bragg, NC. God placed on Eric’s heart the need to minister to our country’s soldiers. He had to leave the comforts of a growing church, be separated from his family for 12 weeks, and there is a good chance of deployment to a war zone. Eric is living out his own sermon of One Life, No Regrets.
Because of the uncertainty of their new life, Eric, Stephanie and the kids could not make the commitment to camp this year. Hopefully we will see them in attendance another year. I know they are praying for you and for the great things God has in store for camp 2010.
If you would like to stay in touch with Eric and Stephanie consult you 2009 address sheets. Eric also has a great blog at Restoring The Image.
Please continue to pray for the Miller family. We will miss them at camp 2010, but who are we to stand in the way of God’s calling.

He will most definitely be missed. He was such a great character. He had the kind of demeanor that, if put on TV, would have become an instant star. (That was my first impression.)
