Why Go To Senior Teen Week

On the blog for the past few months we have been remembering Senior Teen 2009 and we are gearing up for Senior Teen 2010.  We are about to host our Spring Retreat in May and then it is full force until camp in August.

We wanted you to be able to voice your opinion.  Please leave a comment and let us know, in your opinion, Why Go To Senior Teen Week?

Name: Jennifer Jo Kressley

Role at Senior Teen 2010: Counselor

Date of Birth: January 16, 1986

Hometown: Orefield, PA

Favorite Ice Cream flavor: Birthday Cake

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you have? Monkey staff bio jen

What was your first car? Red 1992 VW Jetta

What is the scariest thing you have ever done? Having lived with her mother.

What is your greatest Camp Timberledge memory? Liz and I trying to jump over the big ball and instead rolling head first into a rock and boathouse worship.

What are you looking forward to the most at Senior Teen 2010? Making new friends.

When Jen joined the Senior Teen Week as a counselor, she had never been to Camp Timberledge before.  It only took one time for Jen to fall in love with the camp and to become part of the Senior Teen family.  2010 will be Jen’s 4th year as counselor and we are excited for her return.  Jen pours her heart into camp and usually leaves with the bruises to prove it.

Outside of camp, Jen is always on the move.  She plays volleyball, softball, and snowboards.  Though sometimes stressful, Jen enjoys her job as an occupational therapist’s assistant.

Where are they now? Jonathan & Cheri

Those of you who have been part of Senior Teen Week for the past couple of years, maybe be wondering, “Where are Jonathan & Cheri?”

For many years Jonathan & Cheri Deily have played a large part at Senior Teen Week.  In the past Jonathan has played on the worship team, been Rec. Director, and has been a counselor.  Cheri joined our team as the camp nurse and eventually filled the counselor role.

The Deily’s were unable to take part in Senior Teen 2009 due to the arrival of their son Jackson and work schedules.

Jonathan & Cheri

Jonathan & Cheri have been enjoying their new roles as parents over this past year.  They now realize how quickly times flies as Jackson is about to celebrate his first birthday in early April.  Jonathan works as a technician at a home automation installer. He is also involved with his church’s worship team and softball team.   Cheri is working part-time as a nurse and is staying home with Jackson.  Needless to say the Deily’s are busy.

Unfortunately Jonathan and Cheri will be unable to attend Senior Teen 2010.  They sincerely wish they could join us and are supporting us in prayer.  Hopefully things will work out and the Deily’s will once again be part of Senior Teen Week.  We wouldn’t want Jackson to miss out!

A Breath of Fresh Air

This morning I did not want to get out of bed.  I had done some heavy lifting yesterday and this morning my body was protesting.  All I wanted was more sleep.   My muscles did not want to support my weight.  I felt grumpy, dirty, and worn out.  Yet my daughter was calling and the day’s work needed to be done.  So slowly I got up and dressed for the day.  Reluctantly I put on my coat and headed outside to get something from my car.  The minute I stepped out the door I was greeted by a cool, crisp, and very refreshing breath of air.  Instantly I was awake,  renewed, and ready to take on the day.
