Our philosophy is pack for every kind of weather.

Pants, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, socks, sneakers…we’ve had snow at retreats in the past so be prepared.

We will be playing games in the woods, so appropriate footwear (SNEAKERS)

Bathroom supplies

We always seem to forgot our towels so here is your reminder!

Sleeping bag and pillow.  Everyone will be sleeping in a cabin and will have a bed and heat, so you won’t need your 30 below sleeping bag

Dark clothes for night games and something white (shirt, hat, socks, etc)

Bible

Camera

Anything you might need for your talent if you are participating in our show.

You will be placed on a team for the weekend.  Team colors will be red/black and blue/gray.  Bring a shirt or two that corresponds to these color combinations.  ( you won’t know what team you will be on until you get there so bring for both teams).

Please remember all clothes should follow the camp dress code.  The dress code can be found on the camp website www.camptimberledge.org

Senior Teen 2011 Fall Retreat!

When: October 21st @ 8:00pm – October 23rd @ 3:00pm

Where: Camp Timberledge, Beach Lake, PA

Who: Anyone in 10th grade- college freshmen

How Much:

$65 if you pre-register by October 14th

$80 if you pay at the door

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

If we do not have 15 people pre-registered, WE WILL CANCEL THE RETREAT and your money will be returned.  Please send in your registration before October 14th!

What you need to do:

1. Fill out the Registration form (click here for form)
2. Make your checks payable to JOY MARTIN
3. Mail a copy of your Insurance Card, the Registration Form, and your check to Jordan & Joy Martin (see registration form for mailing address)
4. Pack your bags and get excited.  You are heading to CAMP!

Martin http://www.ctseniorteen.com/?p=1441 So how was camp?  I get this question quite often but camp wasn’t about me, it was about you.  So I want to know “how was camp?”

This Sunday we are having our follow up staff meeting and in a few weeks we will have our director’s meeting.  We always discuss our high’s and low’s as staff members, but I would like to include your opinions.  Please leave a comment or email us your high moments, things that concerned you, things you liked/disliked, and things you would like to see next year.

We will also start planning the retreat soon so if you have any ideas for the retreat or questions please let me know.

Some of you are starting to pack up your bedrooms and are heading off to college in the next week or two.  The rest of you are starting to see the back to school sales and are desperately holding on to the last few weeks of summer.  High school and college can be difficult, especially if you feel like you are alone.  I want to remind you that your camp family is here for you.  The staff is willing to listen and they want to pray for you.

If you are a college freshman, please leave a comment and let us know where you are going to college and when you start.

Feel free to leave a prayer request in the comment section if you would like your camp family to pray for you.  If you do not feel comfortable sharing your request publicly, please contact any of the staff members via email.

As you head back to school remember you are not alone and the retreat will be here soon.

I wanted to apologize for not getting the blog up and running sooner.  Usually we come home from camp on such a high and are so excited to keep that feeling alive, but this year was different.  I need to be honest, the minute we got home from camp, reality set back in and camp became a distant memory. Everyday life, the struggles we dealt with before camp, and new challenges were waiting for us.  I became overwhelmed and things like the camp blog slipped through the cracks.

As I sat down to write this post I started to wonder if I was the only one feeling like this.  Is anyone else so caught up in “home life”  that he/she is forgetting about “camp life”?  If so, what can we do about it?

Here are just a few suggestions that may help:

*Get in touch with your counselor or another staff member.  We would love to listen and offer support.

*Print off some pictures from our flickr site and post them around your room or in your locker.  It is a simple way to put a smile on your face.

*Purchase the Gungor: Beautiful Things album and listen to songs like “Dry Bones” and “Beautiful Things”.  Let the simple words take you back to the camp center.

*Go through your Bible and notes that you took at camp.  Write down the decisions you made on an index card and place it on your mirror or someplace you frequent.  Let it remind you that your “home reality” can be affected by your “camp decisions”.

I wish I could be back at camp this moment, but since life won’t allow it right now, we can stay connected via the blog and facebook.  Before we know it the retreat will be here and we can go back to that wonderful place!
